Found good reviews over the internet regarding this gun. Mostly WWII airsofters appreciate the gun because of its markings and overall build. Here's a sample review: CYMA THOMPSON AEG REVIEW By: Mauser98k(The coolest)
Ok, since most of you guys have a decent knowledge on this gun and the history of this gun, I’ll cut straight to the point, this is my first review, so go easy on me. so here is my review on the Cyma Thompson AEG!
Receiving the Gun:
It was a cold morning, with fresh dew on the gra-oh, yea the review. I discovered my Thompson on my porch at about 1:00 PM on Monday, it felt like a godsend, I quickly picked it up and tore the rice paper-wrapping off to reveal the lovely CyberSheisse box that which inside, held the lollipops that I have been waiting 6 whole days for. Upon opening the box, I found the Thompson packed nicely in the box, along with a nylon sling, a mini 8.4V battery, a Chinese charger (No use for that), a speedloader, a jamming rod, and one plastic low-cap magazine.
First Impressions:
I was very happy to find that when I picked up the gun, it was bloody heavy! It weighs a good 6 pounds at least, without the magazine or battery inside it. It definitely isn’t built for smaller folks out there, since it’s weight and length, it’s hardly an SMG anymore, hahaha. The wood finish on the gun is very appealing, with hard-to-see seam lines, but I think I will replace the wood anyways, as I can’t stand the look of plastic wood. I quickly started to inspect the metal on the gun, eyeing the pieces that were metal and the ones that were plastic. I was pleased to only see one plastic part upon the gun (other than the magazine and plastic stock), which was the lower receiver. All of the knobs and the magazine release are metal, but just the base lower receiver is only plastic…Very appealing.
Upon tightening all of the screws, I found the gun to not wobble AT ALL. The only things that even moved were the sling swivels, but that is expected obviously, haha. *Also, I am not sure on this, but it appears to me that the barrel wobble problem is fixed with this version, although you guys will have to confirm this for me when i put pictures up.
Taking a closer look:
Now that I got a good look at the gun, I will inspect its closer aspects.
Metal finish: I was kind of scared that the finish would be very crappy on the Thompson, but I inspected it a bit, tried to scratch it, and I must say, d**n! They really coated the gun in multiple layers of paint, and on top of it there are no bubbles or malformations that I can see. They obviously took time in painting these, and it really shows.
Sights:
The sights were also something I worried about. (I practically worried about everything with this gun) I was almost sure the rear sight would be fixed or something horrid like that, but yet again, I was happy to know that they made them metal and fully adjustable, and they work like a charm. You can adjust for wind and height, just by pushing it to the sides for wind or moving it up and own for height.
Trigger Assembly/Selection Switches/Magazine Catch:
The Selector switches are very nice, there are lovely engraved labels for each mode, and you hear a nice morally reinforcing “click” when you switch fire modes. They are full metal, and seem to be locked in place very well. The trigger assembly is built very nicely, all metal, and doesn’t need to much of a pull to let off a round. On full auto, if you pull lightly, it will only spit out one round, which is nice if you don’t want to wank around turning the knobs back and forth.
The magazine catch, ah the magazine catch. I’ll flat out say it, for the first 30 minutes, the catch is a total pregnant dog, and it’s the most annoying thing you’ve ever handled. Once you have inserted the magazines about 10 times though, you will get the hang of it, at least I did. I figured though, since the hop up is in the mag well, like the Marui, it is a very bad idea to slam the magazine home, as it will annihilate the hop up after a while, so be gentle!
The magazine:
Included with the gun was a low cap 64 round magazine. I was sad to discover that it was plastic, but after tinkering with it a bit, it is actually very sturdy and is not cheap at all! Of course, for realism's sake I will get TM metal mags, but for those who don't mind, the magazines are actually pretty nice. To my amazement, they actually fed EVERY single BB! No fiddling with it to get the last shots out, and no bbs falling out the mag well after i remove the magazine. Very nice!
Now the fun part…boom boom:
Ok folks, I’m going to have to update this after a few days, but so far I have done some minimal testing to at least see how tough it is.
FPS test:
The battery was at half power when I tested it, so it’s most likely a lot more powerful than this, but I shot the bottom of a Monster energy drink can from 5 feet away, and it CRACKED. I don’t know how many of you know Monster drinks, but those of you that do, you would know how thick the bottom is. I also shot it at the side of the can, it went through one end and cracked the other. I can’t wait until I get this puppy at full power to see how it performs.
Range:
My backyard is pretty d**n large, about 80-90 feet in length. Now I took it outside for only about 2 minutes to unload a clip, again, WOW! The bb’s shot all the way across, furiously hitting the cement wall(dramatic aint it?) in a straight line all the way across. That is stock, out the box, without even adjusting the hop-up unit…I am impressed.
So Far:
Build Quality: 9 Performance: 10 (So Far) Price: 10 (Totally worth the tag) Skirmishability:- (Yet to be determined)
Ok folks, this is just the bare bones of the review, I am trying to find my d**n camera to get pictures of this puppy, and I will do a full target shoot at a full charge as well and get the results up here. I hope you all enjoy the review, and please keep checking back for further info, skirmish results, and photos.

cant find any specifications for the guns internals. Cant even see if its utilizing a version 3 gbox. looking at the receivers and frame though, looks more like a version 1 or 7 gbox. Upgradeability? Need to research more. Will post infor as soon as I get some.
